The Golem

Continuing the battle for the Soul Edge, this pack brings back 4 fighters from the Soul Calibur VI: Libra of Souls set with new abilities. New versions of Astaroth, Seong Mi-Na, Tira, and Voldo bring another way to play your favorite character with this Deck-Loadable Content!

Enemies of the war god Ares best beware the axe of the mighty Astaroth!

**Astaroth** retains both and , but opts to pick up the symbol. He also trades 1 card in hand for an extra 4 Vitality, to a total of 37. This big guy wants to play BIG Attacks and high-cost Foundations. Getting to add damage for the total Difficulty of the Foundations committed to pass the check to play any Attack can have a massive payoff. And what does he get for going that route and dealing lots of damage? Well, readying a Foundation in order to use it to pass another Attack seems pretty good. But wait…there’s more! **Astaroth** gets to call his shot and wind up for a haymaker! Want to commit all of your Foundations for massive damage when your opponent is wide open? Well, then this is the homunculus you’ve been dreaming of.

There’s not too much to say about Titan Bomb other than it’s an apt description. It’s definitely a bomb that your opponent can’t ignore. It can serve as a pretty good poke that also discourages Reversals, since it makes all attacks +1 Difficulty. I can’t imagine playing this attack and NOT being able to ready all of your Foundations after it resolves unless your opponent cancels this attack’s Enhance ability.

“Astaroth like damage! This card add damage! Astaroth like card!” That’s the first thought I had when I saw it. This card is simple, but does it’s job.

  1. Pump damage
  2. Help Astaroth pump more damage
  3. Ready itself
  4. Have a good block mod

Check, check, check, aaaaaannnnnd…check. Seems good. Other Throw decks may end up playing this card, though I’m not quite sure how widely-played A Cataclysm is Born will be played, overall. Still, there’s always a use for a card that adds damage for free and readies itself in kitchen table decks, at the very least.
