It’s time for another preview from the fifth pack in our inaugural cycle of Deck-Loadable Content! The adventures of the Bebop’s crew continue with these characters from the hit anime. Cause some grief to Spike and the rest of the crew with the incompetent Cowboy Andy; the revenge-seeking Gren; the immortal child, Wen; or Spike’s elusive dream girl, Julia.
Let’s take a look at the boy who lived through the accident that changed the solar system.
Wen has a hand size of 5 and 35 Vitality. He wields the ,
, and
symbols. As a criminal in hiding, Wen prefers to set things up to his advantage. The more Characters he has in his Staging Area, the more he can manipulate his opponent. Even if not fully stacked with 4 Characters in the Staging Area, his Once-Per-Turn Form is useful for resetting your defensive stance for the opponent’s turn. If he IS fully prepared, then being able to mount an offensive charge, ready all of his Foundations, and still continue on while disabling his opponent’s ability to defend should let him finish out a game. His Response has very versatile utility on either offense or defense, being able to counter that final attack from the opponent or preventing the block that will stop you from winning the match.
Murderous Fire is Wen’s Attack. This Gauge attack can become a Throw for any Character when their opponent has a higher hand size. For Wen, this will be the case when facing off against the majority of the other available fighters. Similarly, if Wen has more Characters in his Staging Area, this Attack allows him to ready a Foundation, playing into the same theme as his Character Form.
Astral Gate Singularity can be “damage-on-a-stick” for 5-hand-size Characters that have stacked to any significant degree. Alternatively, if knowing or controlling the top card of your deck is pivotal to your current game plan, this can be a workable use of the card if the damage pump is not necessary. This Foundation may find a decent home in Remiliss, who can satisfy the stipulations for a strong use of the Enhance ability.
The Cowboy Bebop Deck-Loadable Content will include four, new, playable Characters, two copies of an Attack for each Character, and two copies of a Foundation for each Character for a total of 20 foil cards. This DLC pack releases in 2020 for the UniVersus Collectible Card Game. You will be able to buy them at your Friendly Local Game Store or preorder them HERE!
