Welcome back for another look at the fourth pack in our inaugural cycle of Deck-Loadable Content! In the Mortal Kombat DLC Pack, four, all-new klassic kombatants enter the world of UniVersus: Nightwolf, Noob Saibot, Sheeva, and Stryker! Our next preview brings you the resurrected Lin Kuei assassin with his evil unleashed, Noob Saibot!
The Mortal Kombat Deck-Loadable Content will include four new, playable Characters, two copies of an Attack for each Character, and two copies of a Foundation for each Character for a total of 20 foil cards.
Noob Saibot is a 7-Hand-Size, 20-Vitality character utilizing the ,
, and
symbols. Noob has a strategy that centers around getting copies of his Character into his Card Pool. His ability to commit and freeze his opponent’s Foundations is mainly offensive, though it DOES have some use on defense to both chip away at their Staging Area and set up additional defense through his Character Response. Noob Saibot is, in fact, just a very versatile Character with good reach for both offense and defense.
Noob Saibot sends out a shadowy double and launches his enemy into the air with Shadow Throw! Hand trap Attacks like Dimension Door Ambush and Princess Parry are always popular, and Shadow Throw will likely continue that trend. As a Gauge Attack, it attaches to Noob Saibot any character of the same name that is in his deck or discard pile, helping him to keep his game plan consistently active. If Noob has previously added a Character card to the Card Pool, using the Response ability to double Shadow Throw’s Damage all but guarantees Gauge to successfully fire off. Despite having no Block in this card, Shadow Throw is a useful addition to nearly any deck that wants multiple Characters in it.
Resurrected Evil is Noob Saibot’s accompanying Foundation. Here we see a very potent defensive tool. At first, this card allows Noob to selectively commit any of his opponent’s spam Foundations. But, as he adds more Characters to his Staging Area, he can choose progressively more powerful cards to effectively take out of play. If the game goes long, it can double as a last-ditch effort to limit the amount of offense your opponent can mount. Having the choice to discard potential attacks if committing their cards seems less useful is a good amount of flexibility for this Foundation that many players will enjoy!
