Undercover Agent

Welcome back for another look at the third pack in our first cycle of Deck-Loadable Content. In the Street Fighter pack, new Chibi fighters C. Viper and Ibuki join series veteran characters Akuma and M. Bison.

Much like the previous pack, this Deck-Loadable Content will include four, new, playable Characters, two copies of an Attack for each Character, and two copies of a Foundation for each Character for a total of 20 foil cards.

Akuma flipped the script last week, but let’s take a look at the stunning C. Viper!

C. Viper is ready to throw hands with a Vitality of 28 and a hand size of 6. Her Resources are , , and . This secret agent uses her skills of intelligence gathering to gain additional knowledge of her deck, effectively gaining a second Review Step with her Response ability. This is really useful if building a deck for C. Viper using lots of low-Check cards, such as Covert Intent or Coffee Samba. Aggressive and unrelenting, C. Viper wears down her opponent’s defenses until she can land one massive Attack. Her once-per-turn Enhance adds a sizable Damage bonus to an EX or Stun Attack. In order to increase the Damage bonus that she provides herself, she can give any Charge Attacks she plays Stun: 2. So make sure to include at least a few into your deck.

C. Viper’s Attack Burst Time is the next card we’ll look at.

Continuing with the theme of aggression, Burst Time is a low-Difficulty Attack that can really stretch out an offensive turn. Able to fuel its own Multiple: 3 ability, this Attack is especially useful in C. Viper as she can even give a Stun rating to each Multiple of the Attack. Play this card at the end of a long string and watch your opponent eventually succumb to your onslaught of pressure.

Finally, we’ll inspect S.I.N. Battle Suit!

Most of the time, your opponent will want to Bang! or STOP! your Character. Or, maybe they are playing a Big Shot: Punch and Judy deck. While this Foundation won’t cancel those actions, it will punish them for it by letting you target commit one of the non-Character cards in their Staging Area. This card continues providing protection with a Response to a Stun ability being played. In such a case, a player using this card can increase or decrease the Speed of the Attack by the Stun rating. Multi-faceted fashion? Yes, please!! Oh, let’s not forget that the Speed-affecting Response is playable while committed. So feel free to use it to pass the Check to play an Attack, or to Block.
