Master of the Fist

Welcome to our opening look at the third pack in our first cycle of Deck-Loadable Content. In the Street Fighter pack, new Chibi fighters C. Viper and Ibuki join series veteran characters Akuma and M. Bison.

Like the previous pack, this Deck-Loadable Content will include four new playable Characters, two copies of an Attack for each Character, and two copies of a Foundation for each Character for a total of 20 foil cards.

For our first preview of the Street Fighter DLC, ***Akuma*** takes the spotlight!

***Akuma***

***Akuma***  is immediately noticeably different from previous versions of the Character, as he is the first UniVersus Akuma to have a hand size of 7. His Vitality has been lowered to 21 to compensate for the larger hand size, and while he continues to feature the and symbols, this version of Akuma was given the symbol to add variety to his play style.  ***Akuma*** focuses on disruption and resource denial, with abilities that can be used on both offense and defense by clever players.

Zanku Hadoken is Akuma’s accompanying Attack in this pack.

Akuma leaps in the air and blasts twin fireballs with Zanku Hadoken!  This Attack applies ***Akuma***’s resource denial theme on offense, combining with his Character Ability to potentially flip 2 of the opposing player’s Foundations, with one being the attacking player’s choice!  Unleashing the full power of Zanku Hadoken by playing the Attack’s Multiple Ability further hinders the opponent’s ability to effectively Block by giving their Control Checks -1 for the rest of the turn.

For a fun time, let’s watch Akuma’s training island get Overrun By Tourists!

Enraged that his private island training ground has become a trendy tourist destination, ***Akuma*** unleashes his inner demon and attempts to spoil their plans with Overrun by Tourists!  This Foundation rewards players for successfully flipping their opponent’s Foundations in the early game by allowing players to eliminate a problem card in their opponent’s hand when their opponent plays any non-Attack card, potentially helping secure a victory in the mid-to-late game.

The Street Fighter DLC pack releases on Friday, April 3, 2020 for the UniVersus Collectible Card Game. Pre-orders must be submitted by Thursday, March 12, 2020. You can buy them at your Friendly Local Game Store or pre-order them HERE!
