The Dread Pirate

Welcome to our first look at the second pack in our first cycle of Deck-Loadable Content. In the Soul Calibur VI pack, there are new versions of the pirate Cervantes, the Soul Edge entity Inferno, the vengeance-seeking noble Raphael, and the Last Priestess of the Winds Talim.

Much like the previous pack, this Deck-Loadable Content will include four new playable characters, two copies of an attack for each character, and two copies of a foundation for each character for a total of 20 cards.

Today we’ll take a look at Cervantes and his support.

**Cervantes**

Pirate Captain Cervantes is a 7 hand sized character with 20 vitality. He has the resources of , , and . Once per turn, he can use his Character Response to make an attack lose a keyword ability. If he uses it on his own attack, that attack gains the Powerful ability, sacrificing one ability to gain more potential damage. Additionally, he can add a card from his hand to his momentum unless his opponent destroys one of their own foundations to stop him.

The next card we’ll look at today is Geo Da Ray.

Cervantes’ new attack, Geo Da Ray, has a Difficulty of 4 and a Check of 3. With a +2 block, it allows the player to gain one additional momentum unless the opponent discards a card. When played during the owner’s turn, it synergizes with Cervantes’ Response by trading Breaker for Powerful:5! And if the player has momentum advantage, the opponent must destroy one of their foundations.

Finally, we have the pirate’s foundation, Shell of a Proud Man.

This 2 difficulty foundation pushes the advantage, causing the opponent to lose vitality for not blocking. It also simulates a variation of Cervantes’ ability to remove keywords from an attack at the cost of flipping this card.
